An Event App from Webex Events is the digital space where in-person and virtual attendees can find information about your event, interact with other attendees, watch live streams and recordings, and much more. Attendees can access your Event App through the Webex Events App or your Branded App, or they can access it through the Web App.
What's the Web App?
The Web App (also known as the Event App's "web version" or "web experience") is a browser-based version of your Event App that uses the larger screen on a laptop, desktop, or tablet to offer enhanced functionality over the Webex Events Mobile App. The Web App is a great option for users who want to experience an event on a larger screen, or who simply don't have an Apple or Android device.
💡 Keep in mind, we strongly recommend the latest version of Google Chrome for the best experience. If Chrome isn't an option, Webex Events works well with up-to-date versions of Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
The remote experience champion
Because of a web browser's flexibility and a computer or tablet's larger screen size, the Web App is the best way for remote attendees to participate in virtual or hybrid events. The Web App leverages every single Webex Events feature with some awesome added perks!
Seamless interaction
Unlike the Mobile App, users on the Web App can engage with app features like Chat, Q&A, and Polls without leaving a Live Stream. This lets you seamlessly engage your virtual audience in the middle of a session to foster discussion and gather feedback.
Attendees can even click on other features while watching a live stream, and the stream will keep playing in a small frame at the bottom of the screen.
For attendees on the go, they can send a live stream link from their mobile device to their email to quickly switch to a computer!
The web as a feature
If a website is embeddable, use the Web Link feature or a Custom Tab to embed it into your Event App. Organizers have loved embedding sites like Miro, Snapbar, and Calendly to increase and enhance attendee engagement. Attendees interact directly with embedded content without having to leave the Event App or open a new browser tab!
Read our article about embedding third-party platforms into your Event App to learn how to add these and more to your Webex Event App.
The Web Link and Custom Tab features aren't the only way to embed content! Any feature in the Webex Events platform that uses external links can display embedded videos, websites, images, and more.
