About Ziteboard

Ziteboard is a simple, web-based whiteboard that you can embed in your Event App or Community web version as a feature, or in your live streams using the Custom Tab option in Sessions and Live Stream features. Attendees can take notes and use the board's pen to write messages, drawings, and doodles.

Ziteboard resources

Refer to Ziteboard's help center to learn how to create a whiteboard and share it with others.

Create a whiteboard

Go to https://ziteboard.com/ and create a whiteboard. Note that you must purchase Ziteboard to embed it in your Webex Event or Community. The pricing plan you choose depends on your needs.

Once you've created the whiteboard, decide which link you'd like to embed in Webex Events. The default link to Ziteboard is https://app.ziteboard.com/. Using the default link, attendees can take individual, private notes. However, they can't collaborate with others on notes. If you want attendees to collaborate on the board, refer to these resources on creating a shared board.

Embed your whiteboard in Webex Events

Once you have the link to your whiteboard, you're ready to embed it in your Event App.

Embed with a Custom Tab

If you'd like to use your whiteboard to enhance audience interaction during live streams, add it to a Live Stream feature or a Session with a Custom Tab. For more information, read our article about Custom Tabs.

When you create a Session or Live Stream feature, expand the Attendee Engagement section, activate the Enable Custom Tab option, and paste the whiteboard link into the Website URL field. Be sure to enter a Tab Name so attendees know what to expect when they click on the tab. Click Save Changes, and you're done!

For attendees using the web version, the whiteboard appears in a tab to the right of the live stream panel, so they can interact without leaving the live stream or opening a new browser tab.

Add a whiteboard feature

If you'd like a dedicated feature in your Event App where folks can use the whiteboard, the Web Link feature is a great option.

Simply add the Web Link feature to your Event App, edit it, and enter the URL that you copied in the previous step. Make sure you uncheck the 'Open link in external browser' box so the whiteboard will embed in your Event App's web version. You don't need to use the 'Pass Data to URL' checkbox.

💡 Keep in mind, to change the feature name and icon to better reflect your whiteboard, simply click the feature's Settings (⚙️) icon to change them.

Attendees can simply click on the whiteboard feature to start drawing and taking notes. ✏️
