Integrating Cvent with Socio keeps your attendee data in sync between systems. The integration brings over registrants and invitees from your Cvent event to populate the Socio attendee list.

Cvent is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that offers web-based event management software for meeting site selection, online event registration, event management, email marketing, and web surveys.
How Cvent integrates with Socio
Setup is simple! After we receive the credentials and integration details, we will confirm that all needed information is collected. After that, we'll set up the standard integration within 5 business days. There's a fee from Cvent for using the API Credentials, be sure to ask your Cvent Account Manager.

The integration will pull updates from Cvent every 5 minutes.

How to Obtain Your Cvent API Credentials
You'll need to contact your Cvent Account Manager to purchase your SOAP API. For more information, check this out.
The API Credential will contain three fields:
Account Name — This is the Account Name used to log in to Cvent, e.g. SOCIO001
API User Name — This is in the format SOCIO001Api
API Password — An 11 character password provided by Cvent
⭐️ Keep in mind, the API Credential is NOT your login credential.
You'll also need to allowlist IPs for API. Follow these instructions from Cvent to do that. Since Socio uses cloud servers, we're not tied to a single IP Address. Input 0.0.0.0 in the Allowed IP Addresses field.

What happens when multiple users with the same email register in Cvent?
When a registrant or invitee brings a guest with them, they often share the same email with the main registrant. Since users sign into Socio with their email, only one of the guest's information will be brought over by default. To address the email duplication issue, you should manually update the guest's email in Cvent to have it populate correctly in the Socio Platform. Don't want to give guests app access? Let us know and we can filter the guest invitees out!
What happens when an update happens in Cvent?
Fields pulled from Cvent overwrite the fields on the Socio Platform. Keep this in mind and avoid integrating fields that you or the Cvent users might update frequently, such as the biography.
How will the Registration Types in Cvent appear in Socio?
Registration Types are reflected in Socio as groups. By default, we'll name the groups exactly as they appear in Cvent. If you'd like to change the name of the mapping, let us know in advance. If the integration is already active, please don't delete the groups as that may cause integration issues.
How do I make sure Socio is pulling from the right event?
By providing us with the Event ID instead of the event name, you can make sure that we are pulling information from the right event. For instructions on how to find your Event ID, check this out.
