Webex Events seamlessly integrates with many leading live streaming platforms to embed a video feed in your Event App or Community. Attendees can join directly from the Agenda or click a Live Stream feature to instantly launch the live stream on mobile devices or computers. That means people can engage with your streams from wherever they are and switch between their preferred devices at any time.

Live streaming platforms

The Live Stream feature and Sessions integrate with many leading streaming and meeting platforms. Live streaming in Webex Events is most seamless and simple with one of our own streaming solutions:

  • Webex Events Production Studio - Webex Events created this studio, and it's designed to give your Event App or Community the most integrated streaming solution. Use attendee content from chats, Q&A questions, and polls in your live stream to create engaging experiences. All session recordings automatically upload to the Video Center in the Webex Events platform.

  • Production Studio by Restream - This studio solution from our friends at Restream is a customized version of the Pro plan from Restream.

  • Webex Events RTMP Player - Use this option to stream a video feed from any source that supports RTMPS, including most of the third-party providers listed below.

  • Webex Events Simulive and Webex Events Video on Demand - Pre-record sessions, then upload the recording to the Video Center to stream the video with Webex Events Simulive or Video on Demand (VOD).

💡 Keep in mind, if you need closed captions and translations, all Webex Events Streaming options work with our free Webex Events Closed Captions & Translations solution. For more information, read our Webex Events Closed Captions & Translations article!

Third-party providers

Each of these providers embeds in your Webex Event App or Community, except for Webex, Zoom, or other meeting software. That's where RTMP can help!

If you want to use a platform not listed above, don't worry! In theory, any live stream platform that provides an embed link or that can use RTMPS (such as OneStream) can stream to Webex Events. We highly recommend thorough testing before your event to make sure your streaming solution works well.

💡 Keep in mind, the 'Other' option's embed code is optional. If you don't include the embed code, and attendees are using the Event App's web version to access the live stream, the stream may open in a new tab rather than inside the web version. Remember to always test before going live!
