What is a D-U-N-S number, and why does my company need one?
Apple requires that your company be verified as a legal entity before you can create an Apple Developer Account and publish your Branded App. Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) is a third-party verification source that issues a D-U-N-S number — a unique identifier for your business within the global Dun & Bradstreet network that acts as a digital certificate.
Locate your existing D-U-N-S number
If your company is based in the United States, use the D-U-N-S Number Lookup tool to find out if your company has an existing D-U-N-S number, or reach out to D&B directly.
If your company is outside the United States, visit the D-U-N-S International website to choose your country or region, then search for your company.
Apply for a new D-U-N-S number
If you've searched on the D&B website and determined that your company doesn't already have a D-U-N-S number, you must register for one. D&B asks for the following information during registration:
Legal entity name
Headquarters address
Mailing address
Your work contact information
After requesting a D-U-N-S Number, plan to wait up to 14 business days to receive your number from D&B. You can pay D&B a fee for a 5-day turnaround on your D-U-N-S Number, though we recommend allowing for the full 14 days regardless. If you're on a tight timeline, submit the request as soon as possible and consider emailing D&B to discuss options.
💡 Keep in mind, if D&B denies your enrollment, ask them for the specific reason(s) and reach out to your Webex Events contact to determine the best next steps.
D&B help
We're always happy to help and give guidance throughout the Branded App submission process. However, for all D-U-N-S -related questions, such as updating company or address information for an existing number, refer to the D&B Digital Service Center for help and instructions. You can also contact D&B directly via their phone number or live chat.
Next steps
Use the time spent waiting for your D-U-N-S number to get started building your Branded App and creating your Event App!
Before submitting your Branded App, you must configure your Event with an icon, cover image, banners (if applicable), and customized feature icons, so prepare those elements, too. 🖼️ Refer to our Image Dimensions Quick Reference article for complete details about all these images and more.
